TIRANA, April 24 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama hit back today at the ongoing criticism of the Socialist Party’s campaign for the May 11 parliamentary elections, saying that opposition parties are trying to use SPAK and the uncompromising fight against corruption as a reason to discourage people from voting for the Socialist Party.

According to the Prime Minister, another argument being used is the claim that half of the government is in prison. However, Rama pointed out that those in contact with the law, either past or present, were members of cabinets from the first and second terms, or the beginning of the third term.

Rama emphasized that the government supports the process and has ensured the independence of the judiciary. He rejected claims that the SP and his campaign are a joke, questioning how such accusations are even possible.

According to Rama, the strategy of electoral campaigns has changed, as it was the SP that introduced a different format of organizing them, bringing people to meetings where they don’t just sit and listen.
