Prime Minister Edi Rama took to the social media on Wednesday to share the best-performing ranking by UN Tourism, the world’s largest tourism organization, with all UN members being its participants.

The government head noted that Albania’s top ranking was unimaginable just a few years ago.

Albania recorded a staggering 80% surge in international arrivals in 2024, outperforming Saudi Arabia that saw a 69% increase in tourist arrivals and Columbia 37%.

“The UN Tourism, the world’s largest tourism organization, has ranked Albania as the country with the fastest-growing number of tourist arrivals in 2024, something absolutely unimaginable just a few years ago,” PM Rama wrote.

Albania has skyrocketed to travel fame, outpacing traditional hotspots with its stunning beaches, rich history, and budget-friendly appeal. UNWTO’s latest report shows the country leading the global tourism boom, attracting waves of visitors ditching expensive Mediterranean escapes.
