Minister Manastirliu expressed her delight to be among the Albanian community in the United Kingdom, who not only keep the Albanian language and culture alive among the younger generations but also actively contribute to their transmission.

“It is an important achievement for the future of Albanian schools in Great Britain that you join the League of Teachers living abroad. We are committed to supporting them, not only with free textbooks of the Albanian language and culture, but also with training for teachers and the certification of these trainings”, said Manastirliu.

Speaking about the close cooperation with teachers in the diaspora, the Minister of Education and Sports said that work is proceeding apace to complete the register of diaspora teachers for a complete data base, which will then be linked to their followup training.

Albanian language teachers in the United Kingdom asked for peer to peer exchange with their home country, to contribute not only to the learning of the Albanian language in the diaspora but also to contribute to Albania by bringing the best academic experiences they have in the United Kingdom.
The Albanian government finances about 5,000 books of “Albanian language and culture” every year for Albanian schools in the diaspora. In addition to Level I of the unified text “Albanian language and Albanian culture”, which is already in the hands of the children of the diaspora, the distribution of Level II will soon begin and the call for the text of Level III has been opened.
