The initiative is part of UBT’s broader academic reform, which aligns its curriculum with some of the highest-ranking European institutions in the field of agricultural and environmental sciences.

Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, said Thursday UBT has become a top choice for high school graduates seeking “quality, perspective, and concrete opportunities for their academic and professional future.”

“With its new academic offer, including nine study programs in cooperation with BOKU, UBT provides students with up-to-date knowledge, European-level practical experience, and an internationally recognized diploma,” Manastirliu stated on social media.

In a promotional video shared on social media, high school graduates expressed enthusiasm for enrolling at UBT. A high school graduate noted she chose UBT not only for the quality of teaching and academic staff, but also for the opportunities it offers, including an internationally recognized diploma.

“UBT is where a passion for nature, agriculture, and rural development turns into real opportunity. In the face of global challenges such as climate change and food security, agricultural science is more necessary than ever,” said another prospective student.

Others highlighted UBT’s transformation into a modern student campus, equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and facilities designed to connect students with the labor market.

Following the agreement with BOKU, students at UBT will be able to pursue parts of their studies in Vienna and have their credits recognized in Albania. “This creates a clear path toward earning a European degree while studying in Albania,” one student said.

UBT invites graduates to apply to the Bachelor DUAL university programs, according to the German model, in the fields of zoo technical sciences, namely Bachelor in “Zoo technics & Safety of Livestock Products” and Bachelor in “Zoo veterinary Biotechnology” offered by the Agricultural University of Tirana (UBT).

These programs are offered by UBT, according to the German DUAL system, within the Erasmus Plus project, in cooperation with the University of Nürtingen, Germany and the University of Savonia, Finland.

The DUAL Bachelor program means university training by combining theory in the classroom with professional practice in businesses/institutions (2 academic years of theory + 1 academic year of professional practice).

DUAL university studies have many advantages, compared to the usual form of university studies, such as: high professional, practical and theoretical level; immediate employment after graduation; familiarization with the profession during studies, and training for the creation of new ventures. These advantages of the DUAL model best respond to the skills that the labor market requires from graduates.

UBT also added that the DUAL Bachelor in Animal Science is a degree recognized abroad, without additional exams, which allows for faster employment. The Erasmus project supporting the Bachelor Dual program provides 4 months of study at foreign universities in Finland and Germany. The internship / long professional practice during the studies realizes a complete familiarization with the profession. Not only UBT professors and foreign professors from partner universities will teach in this program. The theoretical part of the program takes place in modern scientific teaching laboratories as well as in auditoriums equipped with modern digital infrastructure (Hybrid) to listen to lectures or to participate in real-time lectures of foreign universities. The Dual Bachelor Programs in Animal Science & Safety of Livestock Products as well as Zoo veterinary Biotechnology have been announced as priority programs and students who will study in them and have an average grade above 8.5 also benefit scholarship.

The development of the Dual university studies program at UBT, according to the German model, was made possible through the government’s initiative for the internationalization of educational programs with EU countries./j.p/p.s./
