“We have been exposed to the same economic and tourism effects as the whole world. We realized that we all do not know when these circumstances will end, and therefore we will seek to use this global event to restore Albania to its place. Although achieving this goal will not be easy, through relations of cooperation and international partnership, especially with the UAE, we will try to reach what we were in 2019 before the spread of the epidemic,” Balla said during the interview.

According to Balla, one of Albania’s main goals is to strengthen its tourism sector, especially after the country reopened its borders and started welcoming international tourists.

“Through an effective vaccination program countrywide, requiring that all citizens and residents receive one of the vaccines against the virus, starting from (Pfizer and AstraZeneca to Sputnik and Sinovac), Albania was able to control the epidemic and is included in the list of green countries that are safe to visit. We have taken many measures that are going in the right direction. However, we remain vigilant, and here we are reaping the fruits of our effective response, as wearing masks is no longer mandatory, most restrictions have been called off, quarantine procedures are no longer needed, and no corona PCR examination is required at our borders. Thus, we are able to open our country and welcome tourists,” Balla said.

Balla also noted that as the country began to recover from the consequences of the suspension of global tourism, flights began to be launched to and from the country.

“The UAE is one of the largest countries contributing to supporting development and tourism in Albania. We have already started receiving citizens and residents from the UAE, and I am happy to announce that there are already two daily flights available from Sharjah and Dubai to Albania. We are also holding talks with Wizz Air Abu Dhabi officials to launch direct flights from Abu Dhabi to Tirana to promote travel between the UAE capital and the Albanian capital,” Balla added.

Inviting tourists to visit the wonders of Albania and enjoy traveling with ease and comfort, Balla noted that Albania is a European country with beautiful landscapes to visit, welcoming traditions to experience, good cuisine to try, and serene nature to indulge in.

“There are countless reasons to visit Albania but the most important thing we can offer is that aside from Greece and Italy alike destinations and wallet friendly trips to take, we are COVID-safe and easy to enter. UAE residents are especially accommodated as they can get their visa upon arrival at the airport,” Balla concluded.
