Asked about the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, Rama said: “My view is very simple: any agreement between the U.S. and China is good for everyone, and any conflict between them is bad for everyone.”

He added that cooperation between the two major powers is essential. “If America sneezes, the world catches a cold. If China sneezes, the world goes into lockdown,” Rama said. “They need to work together for the good of the world.”

The Paris Peace Forum brings together global leaders and public figures to discuss international cooperation on peace, the economy, the environment and security.
