TIRANA, Sept 30 /ATA/ Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, participated on Monday in the launch activity of the twinning project of the School of Magistrates with the French and the Italian School of Magistrates and the Center for Judicial Studies of the Netherlands.
Manja described this twinning initiative as a new chapter for justice in Albania.

The Minister emphasized that with the launch of this twinning, we are introducing the highest international standards for the training of new judges and prosecutors.

The justice we want requires excellent preparation and transparency and this project is a big step forward, Manja went on saying.
“The launch of the twinning program, financed by the European Union, marks an important step forward in improving the quality of our justice system and enhancing the training standards for young judges and prosecutors,” he said.
“The internationalization of the School of Magistrates is a strategic objective of Albanian justice. Cooperation with reputable international institutions, such as the French and Italian School of Magistrates, and the Center for Judicial Studies of the Netherlands, contributes not only to further improvement of our academic programs, but also to the preparation of new generations of magistrates with a broad perspective , where the values of democracy, human rights and the rule of law are at the core of their work”, emphasized Manja.
“The partnership that starts today is a concrete step towards the development of a training program based on practice, where young magistrates will have the opportunity to be involved in an international environment of exchange of experiences and new methods. This model of initial training, which combines theory with practice, ensures that our judges and prosecutors are prepared to face the challenges arising from the complexity of new cases presented by the modern era, including information technology and the European integration process”, he underlined.

Another important element, added Manja, “is the development of lifelong training for judges and prosecutors in office. Continuous improvement of their skills and knowledge is essential for a justice system that responds to the needs of citizens and respects the highest international standards. Through new training programs, our magistrates will have access to international expertise and opportunities to further strengthen their professional integrity and independence.”

Manja said, among other things, that the School of Magistrates has shown that it is an important center for the training of judges and prosecutors in Albania.
“Today, with this partnership, it takes a step forward towards development as a center of excellence not only for magistrates, but also for lawyers of all courts. Our ambition for the School is to become a point of reference for all those who seek to increase their knowledge and professional capacities in the field of justice, thus contributing to the quality of justice in our country,” said Manja.
Manja expressed the deepest gratitude to the Delegation of the European Union for this recent precious cooperation and for their dedication in supporting the government’s reforms in the field of justice.
