President Begaj took to the social media to share images from his visit to Tuzi, where he laid a wreath at the memorial of the Albanian national hero Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg.

“We kicked off the visit with meeting with our brothers and sisters in Tuz, where we were extended a warm welcome with traditional dance at the square, where memorial of Albania’s national hero Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg has been placed since last November 28,” Begaj wrote on the social media.

The Albanian head of state began an official visit to neighbouring Montenegro earlier today.

President’s office said that Begaj is expected to meet with his Montenegrin counterpart Jakov Milatović.

President Begaj’s agenda includes visits to Albanian-dominated municipalities of Ulqin, Tuz and Guci, as well as meetings with high-level authorities, and Albanian political representatives in parliament of Montenegro.

I wish him victory on March 5 local elections and I look forward to working closely together to deepen cross-border cooperation and advance joint projects”, wrote Xhaçka.

The Government of Albania and that of Montenegro held a joint meeting today, in the new building of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Montenegro (CANU), in Podgorica. /p.s./
