Albania is the guest of honor of this year’s edition of the Turin International Book Fair. An event devoted to the Center for Research and Publication on Arbëresh, represented by the Centre’s Executive Director Diana Kastrati, and scholars Silvana Nini, Dorina Arapi and Rudina Hoxha, is scheduled to take place on May 21, at Albania hall in Turin.

The event will feature the Centre’s activities and publications in the last three years, after having been established as a coordinating body to promote culture and heritage of Italy’s Arbereshi community.

Albanian authors and scholars, who represent Albania in the Turin International Book Fair, will attend the event and the whole program of the exhibition.

TIRANA, Feb  14 /ATA/ Albania has been invited to take part as a friendly guest in the Turin Book Fair, which will be held from May 18-22, 2023.

At a press conference held on the occasion, the hosts presented the guest country as well as the theme, which will be “Beyond the mirror.”

“We accepted the invitation with pleasure and believe that we will showcase our country with dignity through some of the representatives of our literature and publishing houses, whose work has enabled us to reinvent and redimension ourselves, but also  present ourselves in the eyes of foreign readers. We can’t wait to meet in Turin, in the name of literature but also in the name of beauty,” Minister Margariti said in the video message for those present.

The presentation of Albania attributed this successful cooperation to the community of Albanians who have integrated for years in Italy, but continue to preserve the identity of their roots.

“The region of Piemonte, where the fair takes place, numbers more than 38 thousand Albanians and thanks to this community we have learned to know each other and see each other like in the mirror,”  the hosts of the Book Fair, who have also invited Sardinia as a friendly region, are quoted as saying.
