And as Prime Minister Edi Rama put it, it is a strategic work for the tourism in the Southern Ionian Riviera.

Attending the beginning of works at the new construction site, PM Rama said that a three-decade old dream is beginning to be realized.

“This is a marked day in the chapter of public works. The project has often been an electoral promise, but different from the others we are materializing it”, said PM Rama.

While the works begin at Llogara Tunnel, PM Rama took the opportunity to post in the social media views showing the roads built so far and some others that are under process all over Albania.

The Llogara Tunnel is 5.9 km long and it will cut the travel distance from 55 minutes into 7-10 minutes.

The tunnel begins from the St Eliza Bridge in Dukat area and continues up to Palasa Bridge.

According to estimations, driving through the tunnel of 5.9 km at a speed of 50-80 km/hr, means the road would be traversed at 7-10 minutes./p.s./
