TIRANA, July 6 /ATA/ The Llogora Tunnel, 5.9 km long, has been opened for the vehicles, shortening the distance to the south, as well as increasing road safety.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared on social media the impressions of the first travelers who passed through the Llogora tunnel.

They welcomed the opening of the tunnel, adding it was a dream that finally came true.
“The road shortens the distance, reduces the time. Excellent! I can say that it is the best tunnel in Europe. I have traveled all over Europe”, says one of the citizens at the exit of the tunnel.
“A great work, great job.”
Enjoy the Albanians wherever they are! Even foreigners with us”, says another
“A good solution, we had been waiting for it for years. Fantastic! Time has come for us to enjoy this day because we have suffered a lot,” said others.
But the tunnel will serve not only Albanian citizens, but also many tourists who have been choosing Albania to spend their holidays for several years.
Some of them, who even passed through it today, said that the tunnel is a good work.
“Nice! Compliments!”, says an Italian vacationer.
“Very, very good”, another tourist says.
The Llogora tunnel is one of the infrastructure works of the important category in terms of tunnels even in Europe, as it falls into the category of the long tunnels. It will remain open during the summer season, while in the fall the works will resume, mainly for the signage and other small details. It will finally open in 2025 and vehicles using it will pay tolls.
The tunnel starts from the bridge of Saint Eliza in the area of Dukat to the bridge of Palasa. Passing through this tunnel of 5.9 km, at a speed of 50-80 km/h, this road is traversed in 7-8 minutes from today.
