The Albania’s Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku inspected on Friday the works on the tunnel number 5 at the “Eagle” junction, while stating that, works are nearing completion, expected to give the capital a worthy entrance aimed at facilitating road traffic and movement for pedestrians.

“The works on “Eagle” junction are nearing completion. The construction on tunnel no. 1 is well underway  and expected to be opened within 17 days,” Minister Ballluku said.

“Following the construction of the tunnel no. 5 there will be three functional tunnels,” she added.

In her remarks, Minister Balluku said that, there are 8 traffic lights that regulate traffic flow and make intersections safer for drivers, pedestrians and other road users in this junction, together with the traffic management center that will be situated in this area.

“This junction will also have a traffic management center, part of road safety packages. We will continue the investments in traffic signs, but also in road safety automation,” Minister Balluku said.

According to Minister Balluku, following the completion of the works on the first 3 lots in the Western Ring, as well as the 2 lots in the Eastern Ring, more than half of the Great Ring of Tirana is about to take shape, paving the way for opening of other construction sites. //a.i/
