Starting from July 2, this axis will be open for vehicle traffic. Currently, the last meters of the tunnel are being cast in concrete, while work is well underway for the lighting system and the electro-mechanical one.

Meanwhile, in all other lots of this axis, the last element, that of placing the necessary horizontal and vertical signage, is almost completed.

Prime Minister Edi Rama published on Monday on social networks images of this tunnel, while announcing that the new road Kardhiq-Delvinë, shortens the travel time to Saranda by 45 minutes.

“Once the Skërfica tunnel is completed, the new and long-awaited Kardhiq-Delvinë road will be finally opened to reveal another wonderful part of Albania, at the same time shortening the travel time to Saranda by 45 minutes,” said Rama.
