TIRANA, May 30 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama announced on Tuesday that the work on the Murriz tunnel is ongoing, meanwhile this work, the most important facility of Arbri Road, will be fully open and accessible to all drivers once the last meters are delivered.

Rama shared on social media photos from this important infrastructure site which, according to him, “makes it possible for the entire region of Dibra to be even closer to Tirana.”

“Geology delayed the progress of this project, but the work has not stopped and will not stop until the completion and full opening of the tunnel, which makes it possible for the entire region of Dibra to be even closer to Tirana,”  the Prime Minister added.

On Arbri Road, the work on the construction of all road segments has completed, while there are still 400 meters left in the Murriz tunnel, 3.8 km long.

Due to geological problems this tunnel was not delivered by the predetermined deadline, April 2022, but the works have been postponed for another 17 months.
