These certified products now carry the national quality logo on their packaging, marking them as protected and recognized for their authenticity.

The initiative, led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in cooperation with a German program for sustainable rural development in Albania, aims to certify traditional Albanian products under EU-style quality schemes: TSG (Traditional Specialty Guaranteed), PDO (Protected Designation of Origin), and PGI (Protected Geographical Indication).

Experts emphasize that some foods go beyond nutrition — they represent the memory, tradition, and land of their origin. These labels guarantee that connection.

Just as Parmigiano Reggiano and Aceto Balsamico di Modena are recognized globally for their quality and tradition, Albania’s TSG label now features on products such as Bedunicë honey, boiled cheese, Runjë Mountain goat cheese, and Kukës flia, showcasing the country’s culinary heritage.
