TIRANA, Dec 17 /ATA/ Minister of Interior Taulant Balla held a meeting with the Mayor of Bajram Curr, Rexh Byberi, as well as directors of local government institutions.

Minister Balla emphasized that investments made in recent years in Tropoja outnumber investments by all other governments combined, investments which will continue in 2024.

“The govt. has shown high attention. A number of projects have been financed, and Prime Minister Edi Rama and the government will continue working relentlessly to transform Tropoja into an important destination. Tropoja is endowed with natural assets, with good, hardworking people, let’s harness this potential to turn it into an agro-tourism destination”, said Balla.

Two weeks from the end of 2023, the number of tourists in Tropoja is approaching 200,000 visitors.
According to Balla, the connection via the mountains with Montenegro and, on the other hand, the opening of the border crossing point would significantly increase the number of tourists in Tropoja.
“The ambition is for these visitors to stay as long as possible in these destinations, and therefore we will continue to carry on with investments, Minister of Interior said.

Tropoja is one of the municipalities with very low crime rates during 2023.

“As Minister of Interior, I would like to hear your concerns, – said Balla, adding that – the School Safety Package remains a top priority, but also the crackdown on narcotics and any other type of illegitimacy,” the minister added.
The Mayor said that Tropoja went through a difficult period in 1997, which cost it a lot, but today it is among the most peaceful and safe cities in the country.
