Statistics processed by the “Vacations and Travel” survey of the Institute of Statistics estimate that in 2020, trips made to Albania for the purposes of “Vacation and leisure” and “Other reasons” have increased by 16.9 and 2.6 percentage points respectively, compared to 2019.

“In 2020, the number of trips for personal or business purposes (inside or outside Albania) made by individuals residing in Albania over the age of 15 was 3,212,076. The average number of overnight stays for completed trips is 4.6 nights. Personal travel accounts for 98.7% of total travel, while business travel 1.3%. The highest travel concentrations were recorded in the months: August (17.0%), January (12.8%), June (12.1%), December (11.4%) and July (9.9). %) ,” it is said in the INSTAT report.

According to INSTAT, long trips to Albania for “Holidays and leisure” constitute 56.4%, while regarding the trips abroad 68.2% of long trips are made for “Visits to relatives and friends.” Business trips have a short duration in Albania (89.5%) and long duration abroad (96.6%).
