In a social media post, Rama highlighted that “10 years ago, we hosted 3.6 million foreign visitors, mostly during the summer months. In 2024, we welcomed 11.7 million foreign visitors, marking an unexpected shift from a seasonal trend to an industry whose mechanisms drive a long economic chain, generating billions of euros for the country.”

Rama said, “Albania’s tourism recovery has been highly praised and promoted by the World Tourism Organization, which has chosen our country several times as the main hub for events and the spotlight in the global travel industry, positioning Albania as the leader of the Tourism Barometer.”

Beyond the increase in tourist arrivals from countries in the region, the year 2024 has confirmed growth and stability in markets from Western Europe, such as Italy, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom, while also expanding the map of distant markets, attracting more visitors from them.

In recent years, Albania has become one of the most visited destinations by tourists from various countries around the world, who are curious to explore its cultural treasures as well as the country’s beautiful nature, both in the mountainous areas and along the coastal regions.
