The State Police reported today that following controls for the prevention and identification of illegal traffic and smuggling, as well as based on the risk analysis, in cooperation with the specialists for the Investigation of Illegal Traffic of the Local Police Department Durrës, hit a case of attempted trafficking of works of art.

During the control exercised in the trunk of the vehicle driven by this citizen, the Police found and seized as material evidence 7 works of art (sculptures) for which the 32-year-old did not have any documents proving their origin or ownership, the report states.

Following the procedural actions for this case, the specialists for the Investigation of Illegal Traffics of Local Police Department Durrës arrested citizen V. B., 32 years old, resident of Kosovo, for the criminal offenses “Trafficking of works of art and culture” and “Smuggling of goods of others”.

The procedural materials are taken to the Prosecution at the Durrës Judicial District Court for further actions./gj.m/p.s./
