The focus of the controls of the Operational Unit of the Traffic Police Directorate, concentrated in the 11 local police directorates are;  above maximum speed limits, aggressive behavior and dangerous maneuvers on the road, driving after drinking alcohol, wrong overtaking, not using seat belts, as well as the use of mobile phones while driving.

“In the last 24 hours, 15 drivers have been arrested in flagrante delicto, 8 of which for driving while intoxicated-DWI and 7 more for driving without a driving license. A total of 67 driving licenses have been suspended, 39 of which for driving above maximum speed limits and 28 for driving under the influence of alcohol or while intoxicated,” the Police announced.

The Traffic Police imposed also administrative measure on 2881 drivers for violations of the Road Code that pose a potential risk for involvement in road events.//a.i/
