TIRANA, April 15 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama, also Chairman of the Socialist Party, stated during today’s event “Infrastructure, Achievements, and Challenges for Albania 2030” that the Traffic Monitoring Center is also a component of the national road infrastructure system.

According to Rama, this project, which is nearly complete, aims to enhance road safety and reduce accidents by utilizing the latest technology.

Rama stated that the Traffic Monitoring Center is an integral part of all the work related to infrastructure.

Rama said, “We are making a dedicated effort to train the staff who will be involved in the project we’ve signed and designed with the United Arab Emirates. The aim is to integrate the entire country, starting from cities, regional centers, hospitals, public institutions, schools, and national roads, into an intelligent camera system. The team here will be able to monitor every road in real time through these screens.”

The goal of this project is to reduce the reliance on police officers on the roads.
Rama stated, “The system is designed in such a way that it will immediately signal any instances of overspeeding. There will be no more police officers on the roads; police personnel will be organized differently, ready to respond, but they won’t be stationed there telling drivers to ‘slow down.'”

Rama further explained, “The real-time speed monitoring system will guarantee that fines are issued immediately. We are working on a feature that will send the fine, along with your photo, directly to your iPhone in real time.”
