Famed not only for its rare beauty, but also for its hospitality, Berat arouses the interest of numerous tourists visiting it.

The Director of the Regional Directorate of National Culture of Berat, Eugen Kallfani, told ATA that “since January the castle of Berat has been visited by 20,439 local and foreign tourists. We are not even in the mid-levels of 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic, but the numerous groups, mainly with foreign tourists give cause for optimism.”

According to him, during June this castle was visited by 3163 domestic and foreign tourists, such as Poles, Ukrainians, Czechs, Germans, French, etc.

There are about 486 cultural monuments in the entire region of Berat and this has an extraordinary impact, in terms of increasing the flow of cultural tourism, especially in recent years.
Berat Castle is one of the largest historical monuments in the Balkans, a large fortress that overlooks the Osum River. The castle is built according to a triangular plan. This castle, if viewed from below, looks like part of the hill.
