PM Rama took to the social media to post official data on tourist arrivals, saying January has signaled a stronger upsurge compared with Albania’s tourist boom in 2023.

“Around half a million visitors, a figure affirming the fact that Albania won’t stop in its growth as new destination in Mediterranean tourism,” PM Rama said.

“More revenue, employment, business and stronger economy thanks to tourism,” he added.

The Ministry of Tourism and Environment announced earlier today that a total of 489,599 foreign tourists visited Albania in January alone, up by 30% compared with the same period of the previous year.

According to data from the Ministry of Tourism, Kosovo visitors lead the hike in tourist arrivals in Albania in January, with around 215 0000 visitors or 30% higher than in same period of 2023, followed by Italian visitors estimated at over 53,000, up 50.4% year-on-year, and visitors from Montenegro, whose number rose 32.6% year-on-year to a total of 52 662 in January 2024.
