TIRANA, April 8 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama said in a televised broadcast that the tourist season this year will be much more relaxed due to mass Covid vaccination of the population.

He also touched on a host of investments that have boosted tourism.

“In many cases, the public works are associated with problems that arise during the implementation phase and the completion time may be behind schedule as is the case of Saranda sea-front promenade’s inauguration slated for Friday that is not related to the elections. Despite the promenade, many other things have been done on the way. We have worked very hard in this one and a half term, as the second one is not a full term and here I ask for a reconceptualization of the two terms. We have had one term and a half available, not two terms in full. But, despite this, we have made an extra effort serving the country to the best of our ability. For example in drinking water supply. There are 120 projects on the ground laying entire kilometers of water pipelines. This season will be more relaxed because of the vaccine,” Rama said.

“Suffice it to do a survey of tour operators. You will see how much demand there is. There is an increased demand from Israel, from Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, the Nordic countries. Many Swedes want to come here. We have just signed an agreement with North Wing flights, which targets Russian-speaking clients,” Rama said.
