“You were a great, true Italian; we were supposed to meet this summer in Vlora, but God decided to let you rest in peace, while with us your songs remain forever recorded in the hearts of many Albanians. Thank you for everything Toto Cutugno; it was a privilege to live at the same time with a legend like you”, wrote Rama in a post in social media.

Toto Cutugno passed away today at the age of 80 in the San Raffaele hospital in Milan.

Cutugno was among the most successful Italian artists with 100 million copies sold, reaching the top of the charts, both as a performer of his own songs and as a producer and songwriter for others, notably collaborating with Adriano Celentano in the mid-70s and ’80. /k.s/p.s./
