TIRANA, March 26 /ATA/-By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today that large-scale investments are in the pipeline, aiming to develop tourism of higher profile and quality.
Prime Minister Rama participated in the second edition of MatchMaker Albania, a business platform that connects investors, companies, and local and international institutions, with over 1,000 participants and more than 400 scheduled meetings.
In his initial remarks on tourism, Prime Minister Rama emphasized that “the sectors showcased at this fair embody the core of the transformation brought about by our economic model.”
He further stated, “Albania has evolved from a destination for adventure tourism, limited to one or two months per year with a small number of visitors, to a country undergoing significant changes, now offering tourism and modern urban projects.”
According to the Prime Minister, this transformation is not only reflected in the figures but also in a highly diverse portfolio of opportunities, ranging from individual tourists who enjoy hiking the mountain peaks, to large groups seeking to visit and explore the country.
Rama remarked that we are witnessing a steady growth not only in our own ambition, but also in that of those who look to Albania as a land of opportunity

“We are preparing to present major investments worth billions, aimed not only at promoting Albania’s tourist destinations, but also at fostering a new kind of tourism—one of higher quality, different profile, and greater sustainability,” Rama added.
