The ancient tomb, discovered in April of this year, has simple architecture and the remains of an individual were found inside it. The inventory of the discovery consisted of fragmented ceramic objects as well as metal objects, where it is worth highlighting the presence of a spear tip.

From preliminary estimates, the tomb is thought to date back to the century IV-III BC. The objects will be treated by conservation specialists at the National Institute of Cultural Heritage.

According to Regional Directorate of Culture Heritage Vlora, the discovery was made in Fetah Derraj’s olive grove, in Dushkarak, while he was working the land.

TIRANA, June 27 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama shared in the social media images from the discovery of another rare monument in the Amantia Archaeological Park.

“For tourists who love to travel in time and history can stop to see an object dating back to the III century BC”, said Rama.

The images show the rare discovery at the Amantia Archaeological Park. After 2 months of excavations, the monumental tomb comes to light. It is a rare object in terms of size and construction. Preliminary studies date it to the 3rd century BC.

The tomb preserves almost all architectural elements. The large size, the features in the construction elements, as well as the features in the roof give the monument unique value.

The results of the excavation and documentation process are still under study by the relevant specialists, so for the chronology of the construction of the monumental tomb only a preliminary dating can be proposed, which is thought to date back to around the 3rd century BC./j.p/p.s./
