Vata/ The Special Appellate College on Thursday upheld the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission to dismiss prosecutor Edmond Hyka.

The Special Appellate College held on Thursday a public session to hand down the decision on appeal filed by the subject of re-evaluation Edmond Hyka against the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission.

The trial panel for this case consisted of the presiding judge: Rezarta Schuetz, rapporteur: Sokol Çomo, members: Albana Shtylla, Mimoza Tasi, Natasha Mulaj, decided to uphold the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission as based on facts.

The trial panel found during the adjudication in public hearing that prosecutor Edmond Hyka failed to fulfill the constitutional obligation to provide an accurate declaration on assets and legitimacy of wealth and in consequence upheld the decision of the IQC for dismissal.

The Independent Qualification Commission dismissed Edmond Hyka, as a prosecutor in the Tirana Appellate Prosecution on 20.12.2019.
