Tirana Great Ring, most complex engineering work of Albanian infrastructure, PM Rama shares images

TIRANA, June 28/ATA/ The Tirana Great Ring is an important work for the inhabitants of the capital, but also for all Albanian and foreign travelers, the Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Monday while sharing on the social media images from the intensive work carried out to finalize this important work as soon as possible.

“Here is the progress of works on Tirana Great Ring Road in the area of Astiri, where the most complex engineering works of the Albanian infrastructure are being realized,” the Prime Minister Rama said.

Work on Lot 1 and 2 of the Great Ring is being performed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Gallery 5 and Gallery 1 in the first lot are nearing completion.

The Great Ring in the capital constitutes a road segment of 27 kilometers long.

The works on the New Ring of Tirana started in October last year and they are expected to be completed in 2023 aimed at facilitating the traffic inside Tirana, while connecting the capital with all national exit roads. //a.i/

TIRANA, May 18/ATA/ The work on the construction of the Tirana Great Ring is well underway, the Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama said today while sharing on the social media a video showing part of this important infrastructure project already being completed.

“Work on Tirana Great Ring is underway,” the Prime Minister Rama said.

The Tirana Great Ring project is an important work for the inhabitants of the capital, but also for all Albanian and foreign travelers.

The Great Ring of the capital is 27 kilometers in length. The work on the Tirana Great Ring expected to be completed by 2023 will facilitate the traffic as well as connect the capital with all national exit roads. //a.i/

Another road axis in Tirana Great Ring opens/ Third tunnel to open at end of March

TIRANA, March 26/ATA/- Another axis of the Tirana Great Ring has been opened to solve traffic jam problem. The road segment from the Tirana East Gate (TEG) roundabout to the Farka overpass is now accessible to all vehicles.

The Albania’s Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku and the head of the Albanian Road Authority, Ergys Verdo inspected today the Tirana Great Ring axis.

In his remarks, the head of ARA, Verdho said that the connection of the first lot of the Tirana Great Ring with the Farka overpass will to ease traffic congestion in the whole area.

According to Verdho, work has begun on the projection of the Lots 4-5-6, considered essential in the interconnection of the new ring and the “Shqiponja” square where work is going ahead at a fast pace.

“The third tunnel will be opened at the end of March designed to absorb peak traffic from Durrës to new Ring Road,” the Minister Balluku said.

Minister Balluku also said that, “we are making every effort to provide a solution to the city traffic and congestion problem in the main road axes in Tirana.” //a.i/
