Prime Minister Edi Rama on Sunday shared images showing ongoing construction work on the second section of Tirana’s north-eastern ring road.

The government head said that parallel concrete beams are being installed currently and work is scheduled to complete within July.

Work is currently underway on construction of two sections completing Tirana’ Ring Road project stretching from “the Shqiponja” roundabout to Tirana’s new Boulevard and further on Shkoze neighbourhood.

The 27 km ring road, set to complete in 2023, is aimed at solving the traffic problems in Tirana and is seen by the authorities as a major project as it will ease traffic flows and reduce congestion-related travel delays for cars and public transport.

Construction of the Big Ring Road project is advancing quickly and parts of it have been already opened to traffic.
