TIRANA, April 13/ATA/- Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro announced today the government’s approval of amendments to the law on environmental noise pollution.

During a briefing after meeting of the government, Kumbaro said that the changes in this law come after a 1-year work and as a result of the work done during the observation of the last tourist season.
Also, Kumbaro said that there will be a clearer division of powers for the municipal police that will continue to control, but also be equipped with accredited control certification tools for other types of noise that can be created by different businesses.

“The time slots during the summer season for normal daily musical activities will be from 12 noon to 12 midnight and in accordance with the mapping made by the municipalities, the State Police will also have the powers to measure, control, monitor or penalize economic activities that do not abide by these norms”, said the minister./p.s./

TIRANA, September 12/ATA/ The Congress on Education with the topic “Challenges of quality and comprehensive education towards European integration” gathered today in Tirana in the Palace of Congresses ministers, academics, rectors from the Albanian and foreign space, as well as agencies, partners at the national and international level, representatives of the society civil society and donors of projects in the field of education.

The education congress, which takes place on September 12 and 13, focuses on “The challenges of quality and inclusive education towards European integration” and aims to bring together in a discussion space many actors in the field of education, including pre-university education, higher education and scientific research”.

The participation in this congress of many authorities of educational institutions, rectors, academics, lecturers, researchers, policy makers promotes mutual cooperation to face challenges of the future, for a quality and comprehensive education towards European integration.

Present at the opening of this congress were Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama, Minister of Education and Sports Evis Kushi, members of the government cabinet, pedagogues, teachers, etc.

Minister of Education and Sports Evis Kushi said in her speech that, “In addition to being a fundamental right, education is also the main factor for the economic and social development of every nation. The changes that are happening in the world today, on the one hand, natural disasters, pandemics, economic crises, wars, climate change, and on the other hand, the rapid development of technology, digitization, and the needs of the labor market for new professions, bring the need for a new vision in education”.

“Besides the global crisis in Albania, we are also facing another trend, a challenge, which the entire Balkan region is facing. A part of young people leave the region for studies or employment to western countries, countries which, being in the phase of the aging of the population and having growing needs in the labor market, have opened the doors for our young people, especially for doctors and nurses. To respond to this trend, we have drawn up some new policies such as the internationalization of universities, but also additional funding for joint, double study programs with prestigious European universities. Our goal is to increase the quality, and to give more value to our degrees, just like in the best EU universities”.

“In this congress, we have dedicated special panels for scientific research, where we have invited, in addition to universities and research centers, also representatives of business and chambers of commerce, and we welcome more interest in their contribution, with concrete proposals and commitments”, Kushi said.

Minister Kushi said that, “Even in the pre-university education system, the challenges are great, so that to achieve that our students benefit from the new skills of the 21st century, become good professionals, successful employees and worthy citizens of the future./ k.s./p.s./

TIRANA, March 1/ATA/ Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu stated today in the Parliament the government commitment to fulfill the ambitious plan of vaccination of the population for 14 months.

“We are not stopping for a moment to guarantee the increase of the quantities of vaccines, to enable our ambitious plan of vaccination of the population for 14 months. We have already guaranteed more than 1.6 million vaccines, but we are continuing to reach other bilateral contracts so that our ambitious 14-month vaccination plan goes according to this pace “, stressed Manastirliu.

The Minister of Health also spoke about the legal changes in the Law on Drugs and Pharmaceutical Services.

“We did not waste time authorizing the marketing of antiCOVID vaccines, but we were extremely careful to approve and give immediate marketing authorization for vaccines that are authorized by the EMA and FDA and certainly pre-qualified by the WHO. The changes we bring for approval not only regulate the procedures for trading drugs or vaccines in an emergency time, through conditional trading authorization, but above all offer more guarantees of costs and benefits. In this case, these changes are proposed and come for vaccines against COVID19, which are a priority for the prevention of infection caused by this virus, “said Manastirliu./p.s./
