Balluku spoke in the Assembly during the interpellation asked by a group of MPs of the Democratic Party regarding the investment on the Thumana-Kashar road.

“The Blue Corridor that connects Croatia, Montenegro, Albania and Greece passes through Albania and we already have the first segment of 21 km Thumana – Kashar, which was built according to the parameters of category A and will be an example for all highways in the future”, Balluku said.

The Deputy Prime Minister announced that the Thumana-Kashar road axis has two junctions that are part of the project and have been built, namely the entrance of Rinas and that of Kashar.

Balluku said that she has also met the residents of Thumana regarding the problems they encountered from the construction of the Thumana-Kashar highway.

“We have provided a provisional solution to the residents of Thumana by building an alternative road”, stated Balluku.

“All toll roads must have alternative roads and today Thumana has an alternative road, but the alternative road is long and not good, so it is not very convenient for the residents of the area,” said the minister.

She also said that there will be a shorter route which is Thumana – Milot.  We are in the phase of signing the contract.

In this center, there will be opened a new cabinet dedicated to the treatment of sports traumas.

“Thumana has now new sports spaces to encourage a healthy life. Together with the Albanian Development Fund, we thought of creating here a center of excellence for the treatment of sports trauma. With the creation of the physiotherapy cabinet, we will offer specialized services for the rehabilitation of people who need it. This cabinet will be equipped with qualified staff, and it will be a new model, which will be initially piloted in Thumana, with the aim of extending it to other cities as well”, said the minister.

On the eve of beginning of the new school year, Koçiu emphasized the significance of a healthy lifestyle for children, with a focus on screening for scoliosis in children aged 6-10 years.

According to her, the scoliosis screening program in schools is a key element for the health of our children. “We are preparing a national program for the early diagnosis of scoliosis, which will start with the beginning of the new school year. This program is an added value for our children, helping them build a healthy life,” she said.

The minister concluded her speech by underlining the unwavering commitment of the government to create the best possible health and educational conditions for the young generation. “Investing in health and well-being of our children is the best investment for the future of the country. Prime Minister Edi Rama wrote in a post in the social media on construction of the road where he also shared pictures of the works being carried out on this road.

“The Thumana – Ishëm road will be according to the proper standards offering a new road access to the users of the vehicles as well as one more opportunity for the residents of the local area and the rural economy”, emphasized Rama.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today in the social media images of the new neighbourhood in Thumana, consisting even of sports fields and all the necessary infrastructure, along with new houses and the blocks of apartments.

The Reconstruction Program in Thumana includes the construction of 155 individual houses and 14 blocks of apartments with 278 apartments.

Also, Thumana already has a modern infrastructure with promenades, sports fields and green spaces.

In Thumana, there are 16 ha of construction land and 37 426 m2 of road infrastructure. There are also 3456 m2 of construction of public buildings, school, kindergarten, medical centre, community centre, as well as 46,148 m2 of public spaces, parks, sports spaces and 408 parking lots./m.m/p.s./

An olive tree is planted in the area in commemoration of the quake victims.

The prime minister expressed gratitude to all those who made their contribution to the reconstruction process and even those who joined the government in the process.

PM Rama said that up to New Year all the families of this block of buildings will move into their new homes built anew.

PM Rama said that in context of the reconstruction process, Thumana people have today a school and a kindergarten.

He added that in addition to a sports complex, there is work underway even for building a playground.

The Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today on the social media images from the reconstruction sites in Laç and Thumana where major work has been done for the rebirth of the city after the devastating tragedy of the earthquake.

A new water supply will be established in the new apartments and blocks being built in Laç which will provide 24-hour quality drinking water supply to the residents. While, work is underway on the construction of the new school, where the children will have the opportunity to use the community facilities of the new neighborhood as well.

After visiting the Laç construction site, the Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama inspected the Thumana construction site, to see closely the progress of the Reconstruction process accompanied by the Minister of State for Reconstruction, Arben Ahmetaj.

“There are 156 individual units that have entered the final stage, both internal and external environments. The external environment will be invested by the Albanian Development Fund-ADF. The objective is to complete the construction site of individual houses on November 26 of this year. Meanwhile there are 278 apartments in 14 buildings expected to be completed as well. Next to the buildings there is the school. The first floor of all buildings is conceived as an environment for community and economic services, with a differentiated height from the apartments, from the second floor onwards,” Minister Ahmetaj said.

“In addition to housing units, the new neighborhood in Thumana will also be provided with green spaces and sports fields for the community, including basketball, volleyball and football fields, which will also serve the new school.
