“There are several projects under implementation. The pyramid is nearing completion to become one of the landmark works in Tirana. An extraordinary investment by the Albanian government, the Albanian-American Development Fund, the Municipality of Tirana. We want Tirana to become Tel-Aviv of the Balkans. We will move ahead with the children’s projects. We have given the city some dignified spaces, Lake Tirana, Lake Farka, the Zoo, the New Boulevard, the Bazaar, the Castle. So we have to move ahead with the Botanical garden. We want to continue with the two terminals. The Lundra one that will be opened these days, we want to continue with the terminal at the Kamza turn. Work continues at fast pace in the Student Town campus in Tirana. In the meantime, the student campuses of Kodër-Kamëz, Medicine and Engineering universities have completed. Work is also underway on the Ring Road of Tirana. Of course, the gem of the city will be the new National Theater, where construction works are at the inception stage,” Veliaj said in a televised interview.
He also focused on new projects for Tirana in the coming years.

“The time has come for Tirana to move some of the courts and some of the justice institutions to the New Boulevard. We also want to move Taxation Administration, Customs Administration to “ 5 Maji” street. This is the only way we can develop the polycentric Tirana that has been opened along the entire axis of New Boulevard, just as it has been opened along the entire axis of Lana. We will also build the end square of the New Boulevard. The boulevard starts with “Mother Teresa” square, in the middle is “Skënderbej Square” and at the end, where the New Boulevard meets the River of Tirana, we will build another square. We also want to complete the schools package. We will have 8 new schools, 2 in the area of Astir in unit 7, 2 on the side of Yzberisht and unit 14, a school near the Botanical garden at Liqeni i thate, we will build 2 new schools in the area of Sauk and one school at the former Arab hospital. This is how we address our entire challenge to phase out two shift learning,” said Veliaj.
