On the occasion of the decision, Parliament Speaker Gramoz Ruçi sent a thank-you letter to the former Speaker of Dutch Parliament, Khadija Arib.

“It was with great pleasure that I learned the good news that the House of Representatives of the Netherlands gave the green light to the holding of the First Albania-EU Intergovernmental Conference. Since our meeting in April 2019, our cooperation has expanded and strengthened,” Ruçi is quoted as saying in the letter addressed to the former Dutch Parliament Speaker.

“On behalf of Parliament of Albania and on my own behalf,” the letter continues, “I express my gratitude for the careful review of Albania’s progress in delivering on the recommendations of the Commission and the European Council”.

Albania, Parliament Speaker Ruçi said, will continue to advance in reaching these standards and will become an added value of the European Union, of this great political, cultural and human family.
