The government head announced that the diabetes test strips are now available for free to all citizens with diabetes aged over 65.

In a post on the social media, Rama said that the decision to cover the cost for test strips would save a monthly pension payment each year for this category of people.

The procedure for reimbursement of diabetes test strips begins with the general practitioner, with the patient withdrawing the form and then reporting at the reimbursement pharmacies, which are located in every regional hospital and at the “Mother Teresa” University Hospital in Tirana.
