TIRANA, Nov 13 /ATA/-By Maela Marini/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama affirmed Saturday that the Socialist government projects to increase the teachers’ salary by at least 32% and possibly by 40% until end of the current term in office.

Addressing an event on presentation of the 2022 state budget for the Ministry of Education and Sports, PM Rama added that the government will do all efforts to deliver on its commitments to increase the teachers’ pay possibly by 40%.

The Premier focused on the challenges and efforts to meet the government objectives for 2022.

“The 2022 state budget bill envisages a pay rise for all teachers and we project to boost their salaries by 32%, and possibly by 40 % during our third term in office. This has to do not only with what we can plan now, but also with the unknown that may show up again, as we are now all aware over the impact of major events we can’t actually forecast and therefore they force us to totally review our plans,” Rama said.

PM Rama vowed to deliver on the government’s commitments despite the post-earthquake and the post-pandemic situation in the country.

“Teachers will see their wages increased by the end of this year and the teachers’ gross salary is now much higher than it was when we together embarked on this path and their salaries will keep rising every year,” PM Rama said.
