In his speech, Berisha touched on the diaspora vote, referring to his meetings with Albanians abroad as highly enthusiastic.

Berisha praised the efforts of branch leaders and candidates for creating significant moral and numerical support for the Democratic Party in the diaspora, particularly in Italy, Germany, the USA, and the UK. He compared the enthusiasm and optimism in recent meetings with that of the 1990-1991 period, describing it as an unstoppable, indescribable excitement among Albanian citizens abroad.

Berisha stated, “This enthusiasm and optimism have warmed the hearts of Albanians. It is now crystal clear that Albanians abroad support the Democratic Party, support the opposition as the sole political force capable of saving Albania.”

Berisha said that the DP’s program will rapidly transform Albania.

“We have a very concrete program, and we have a very fast program with which we will transform Albania at a rapid speed,” Berisha stated.

“The budget will primarily focus on allocating the emergency package. We will set the minimum income at 200 euros, increase pensions, and ensure no pension is below 200 euros. Pensions will be raised by 20%. The minimum wage will be no less than 500 euros, and the average salary will reach 1,200 euros. Additionally, every pensioner and individual with a low income will receive a consumer card, which will enable them to be reimbursed—not a bonus as some claim—but the tax on food and basic goods purchased. Experts estimate that this tax refund will total 450 euros annually,” Berisha stated.

“Therefore, let’s call the package for Albania the package of compassion, the emergency package, which will be implemented in the first three months,” said Berisha. /j.p/sm/
