TIRANA, Oct 10 ATA/ – Albanian teachers ranked among the better performers in the OECD’s Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS), Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Friday, calling the results a motivation to further support the country’s educators.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Rama said the findings – which place Albanian teachers among the better-rated groups across 55 education systems in Europe, the government head said the results reflect both teachers’ dedication and the government’s sustained education reforms.

“This is very good news for parents and a reflection of our teachers’ merit and the joint efforts made to strengthen the system,” Rama said.

He added that the TALIS survey highlights strong motivation and professional satisfaction among teachers, as well as above-average use of technology in classrooms.

Rama noted that Albanian teachers report higher-than-average job satisfaction and above-average use of technology in classrooms compared with many European peers.

“They are not doing this job out of necessity but out of vocation,” he said.

The Premier underlined the need to better support young teachers under 30, reduce workloads, and continue reforms in professional development and curricula to sustain quality improvement in pre-university education.
