TIRANA, May 28 /ATA/ Albania’s digital transformation has entered a new stage of development, with technological innovation, artificial intelligence, and accessible public services reshaping the interaction between the state and its citizens.

During the rollout of Albanian Digital Solution Sh.A., attended by Prime Minister Edi Rama, Minister of Economy and Innovation Delina Ibrahimaj, Minister of Internal Affairs Besfort Lamallari, Director of the National Agency for Information Society (AKShI) Igli Tafa highlighted the ongoing efforts of technical teams and professionals in building and advancing the national digital ecosystem.

According to Tafa, every online service and administrative process available today is underpinned by long-term, continuous effort and the daily commitment of information technology specialists.

“People are the foundation of digital transformation. Staff, managers, technicians and experts working every day to keep systems running have built this new digital reality step by step,” he said.

One of the key developments presented is the e-Albania 2.0 platform, which introduces significant improvements in usability, security, and accessibility.

Tafa stated, “The new platform allows, for the first time, greater independent use of online services for people with disabilities, while providing businesses with new functionalities for managing authorisations to access electronic services on behalf of commercial entities.

“For businesses, e-Albania 2.0 introduces a long-awaited new feature: the management of authorisations for the temporary delegation of online services. This means that business administrators can authorise employees or representatives to access electronic services on behalf of their company directly through the e-Albania portal.

The platform also streamlines the authentication process, offering more flexible and secure methods of identity verification beyond traditional confirmation methods,” he added.

The Director of AKShI highlighted that the latest developments also focus on Diella, the virtual assistant of the e-Albania portal, built using artificial intelligence technologies.

According to him, Diella represents a concrete step towards integrating artificial intelligence into public administration, positioning Albania as an active participant in global advancements in this field.
