TIRANA, April  19 /ATA/ The DP MP, Jorida Tabaku, reacted Friday on the decision of the Constitutional Court, which has partially accepted the request of the Democratic Party by repealing an article, as incompatible with the Constitution.

In a post on social media, Tabaku states that the Constitutional Court ruling, although incomplete, ruled in favor of a group of DP deputies regarding the Fuel Board.

“From the very beginning, I have called it the communist board, the board of oligarchs, because in fact less than five companies are beneficiaries and it is the unique case in the world when the business sits down with the government and fixes the price at the expense of the citizens. The abusive and corrupt decisions of this board have cost the citizens 600 million euros in additional taxes due to the price hike that went to the companies and the state budget! This business of capitalizing on the crisis had to be banned right away, while the CC ruled that only the indefinite period of time is unconstitutional about this board,” stated Tabaku.

“In a nutshell, I left it up to the government to dissolve it. As to the Food Price Board, under the same legal basis and the same reasoning, it concluded that it was unconstitutional, while the Fuel Board was partially so! I have not chastised and I will never ever attack the courts and prosecutors as most of the politicians usually do, but today everyone should ask themselves how come that for two boards that were established in the same way, apply the same legal basis, two different decisions are delivered. How come the Constitutional Court finds two drops of water different?!”, she said.

A day ago, the Constitutional Court decided to repeal Article 21/10, point 2, second sentence, of Law no. 39/2022 “For the approval of normative act no. 5, dated 12.03.2022 “For some additions to the law no. 8450, dated 24.02.1999 “On the refining, transportation and trading of oil, gas and their by-products”,  amended”, as incompatible with the Constitution of the Republic of Albania.
