Spiropali considered the meeting with the Swiss Ambassador in Tirana, Adrian Maître, as very fruitful.

We discussed the progress of the work and implementation of the project on Parliament and Civic Education (PACEP) between the Government, the Albanian Parliament and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The PACEP project is set to be completed by the end of this year and the decision to renew the agreement is a great news.

“Thanks to the support of other partners, the OSCE Presence in Albania and the American Democratic Institute (NDI), this project has delivered an impact on the performance of legislative, oversight and representative functions of Parliament,” she said.

Spiropali added that during this meeting, Ambassador Maître touched on the assistance that the Swiss government will provide with monitoring the implementation of the recommendations of independent institutions and the public consultation process.

“Strengthening cooperation between the two governments and the respective parliaments has brought to life important projects aimed at exchanging the necessary experiences for the consolidation of democracy and the rule of law, as well as promoting economic development through investments and valuable assistance of the Swiss government,” she said.
