TIRANA, Aug 1 /ATA/ Enterprises in the field of medicinal and aromatic plants, thanks to the support from government and EU programs, are booming, achieving concrete results in production, export and income generation.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca, published Monday on social media the example of a business that operates in this field, which thanks to the support from the IPARD program, has implemented new technologies, facilitating the processing processes and increasing the yield.

“A medicinal herb-oriented company, which also thanks to the support of the IPARD program, has experienced a transformation as far as the development of the company is concerned,” writes Krifca.

The minister pointed out that, “after implementation of technological innovation, the company has not only facilitated work processes, but has increased performance, production yield, increased exports and product quality.”

Petrit Skora, administrator of the “Meia” company, deals with the production of essential oils from aromatic plants which are mainly exported to the USA.

Skora shows some of the aromatic plant processes carried out in his company, as he attributes the investment in new equipment and modern technology to the support from IPARD.

“Our company produces about 200 tons of essence in 24 hours which is packaged and traded according to the contracts,” said Skora.
