In keeping with the centuries-old tradition in Elbasan of flowers, ballokume dessert, the city of art lovers, culture, education, cultural heritage and culinary delights, the tables have been meticulously laid for all friends and guests that come over to join in festivities.

As a pagan holiday, “Summer Day” expresses admiration and appreciation for nature and its works on earth.

Therefore, Elbasani is set to become the centre of festivities even on this upcoming March 14, where under the auspices of the mayor Gledian Llatja, a host of artistic events will be organized for children, young people and adults.

The summer day celebrations have started off with many activities such as the “Dining Table of Elbasan” entitled “The flower of Elbasan does not wither, the hospitality does not fade,” a blend of tradition, ancient and modern elements, beauty and pleasure, friendship and love.

The Art Center has brought to life the Elbasan Table, which features cuisine, folklore and tradition. The decor gives the feel of Elbasan Castle, the ambience of old Elbasan weddings, combined with live cooking as in an old Elbasani house.

“Dining table of Elbasan” has always been full for friends, so welcome to Elbasan. We carry on with our civic traditions, celebrations, so I hope you will enjoy together with our friends in Elbasan. These are our values, we are the ancient city that has always instilled culture, knowledge and education. The tradition of Summer Day will continue to pass down through the generations,” said Llatja.

The people of Elbasan on Summer Day gather at dining tables and celebrate wishing for prosperity and health, they thank nature, God for the summer season.
