In her remarks at the meeting of the National Council of European Integration, Hohmann mentioned the justice reform which she described as an extensive and comprehensive one.

“The success of the justice reform enabled Albania to ensure a seat at the negotiation table. This is your ticket. I cannot stress enough how important it is that you maintain the integrity of these reforms, further strengthen the judiciary and ensure that the rule of law becomes a full reality for every citizen in this country,” she said.

“There should not be impunity, there should not be different justice systems. There must be an identifier for Albania. And we have seen the first results and we continue to see results,” Hohmann said.
She underlined that, “SPAK has delivered results this year. I haven’t counted them, but I see the reports, subsequent investigations. And this is important because the credibility of the judicial system among citizens is important. You have to convince, not me, not the EU, but the citizens. Citizens must trust you and they must trust the system.”

“I call on all those who, not only are active in the judiciary, but also others who have an influence on the judiciary, to guarantee that the judiciary delivers results up to the highest European standards and that there are no doubts or question marks. This is the most important,” said Hohmann.
“This is the wish I would have for you and I know that the Assembly has a role to play in this direction. Therefore, support for the judiciary, providing the judiciary with the right budget to do the right job, to have the necessary equipment and personnel to do its job is essential and has a domino effect in other areas, so it should not be underestimated.
That is why it is and should be one of your priorities that you should be proud of, and this is important to say,” Hohmann emphasized.
