TIRANA, Nov 20 /ATA/ – The Minister of Education and Sports Evis Kushi on Saturday called for stronger cooperation to combat violence against violence in schools, underlining that most effective violence prevention and response plans should be developed in collaboration with school and health officials, parents, and community members.

Addressing the new Students Parliament that convened at the Parliament’s hall earlier today, Education Minister noted that “adults can learn a lot from certain values of young people, namely the cooperation and harmony that are not to be found among lawmakers and politicians.”

Speaker of Parliament Lindita Nikolla, the Minister of Education and Sports Evis Kushi, as well as students from the previous and new legislature of the Students Parliament attended the event.

Education Minister praised Parliament Speaker Nikolla for her special care and readiness to make Parliament’s infrastructure available to young people.

“The previous Students Parliament provided us with many valuable ideas on online schooling, digitization, the fight against bullying and social phenomena,” Kushi added.

Taking notice of recent minor incidents, Education Minister urged students for closer cooperation and participation in the fight against negative phenomena or violence in order to identify potential incidents as soon as possible together with teachers and psychiatric social workers.

This is the second legislature of the 140-seat Students Parliament, an advisory body to the Ministry of Education and Sports, focusing on active participation in decision-making processes and improving the quality of the educational process.
