Addressing an event on the Distinguished Visitors Day for the joint Austere Wolf – 24 exercise between the Albanian and British troops, Peach underlined the importance of security in Europe amid the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Peach highlighted strategic importance of the Corridor VIII as it provides key connection between roads, ports and infrastructure, allowing NATO’s rapid mobility.

“We work with Albania’s Armed Forces for 100 years now and I am delighted to see Albanian students receiving diploma in the United Kingdom. As a former Chairman of the Military Committee, I would like to say that we are working on several aspects. There are no longer doctrinal borders and everything is now under the umbrella of the word defense,” Peach stated.

He announced that British troops participating in the exercise will first move to North Macedonia and will arrive in Kosovo on Wednesday.
