TIRANA, March 29 /ATA/ The State Technical and Industrial Inspectorate in Vlora has started an inspection of hotel structures to check the safety of appliances under pressure and the certification of the electrical system, an operation that will continue throughout the country, with the aim of guaranteeing a smooth and safe tourist season.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, was in Vlora, where together with the director of STI, Sokol Zaimi and the mayor, Ermal Dredha, saw first-hand the action taking place in this city.

Balluku said that these inspections are being carried out as part of the safety criteria that all accommodation structures in our country must comply with, whether it concerns the use of appliances under pressure or the electrical system, emphasizing that the businesses themselves are also beneficiaries.

“There are over 650 accommodation structures, from Shkodra to Ksamil, that will be subject to these checks,” she said.

According to her, “this action checks the safety conditions when using appliances under pressure, that is, for all hotels that use gas. Also, we are currently checking electrical wirings in all hotel buildings.”

Balluku pointed out that the whole process, in cooperation with the local government, will be finalized by May 1, prior to the tourist season so as not to cause any inconvenience and disrupt the operation of accommodation structures.

“We are carrying out some inspections before the beginning of summer because we don’t want to cause any inconvenience during the tourist season, so the STII teams in cooperation with the municipalities of the coastal areas, as well as those in the mountains, mainly destinations that will be hosts of this fantastic tourist season with more than 14 million visitors, she said.
