The law ended its effects at the end of 2023, but according to the proposals forwarded by Socialist lawmaker Eduard Shalsi to the Economy Commission, entities interested in such investments were to be provided the opportunity to submit their requests until the end of 2027.

However, a day ago the Committee on Legal Issues suggested that given the new legal framework on the strategic investments, the law was postponed until December 31, 2024.

The Committee rejected the amendment proposed by lawmaker Shalsi and decided to postpone strategic investments law until end of this year.

Through the proposed legal changes, the government intends to increase the value of the investments, going from 30 million euros to 50 million euros for the usual procedure and if we must have a special procedure, it should have a value of over 100 million euros.

Since the entry into force of the law and until now, 88 investment projects have been handled, of which 40 have benefited from strategic status, 14 projects have been rejected and 34 others are in the evaluation phase.
