Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, described this development as a good news for patients with a stoma.

Koçiu announced that approximately 800 patients will immediately benefit from the government’s new decision, which provides for the reimbursement of three types of stoma: colostomy, ileostomy, and urostomy.

For this purpose, Koçiu stated that a fund of 100 million lek has been allocated from the state budget for the year 2025.

The Minister of Health and Social Protection described this as another step toward providing greater dignity, care, and support for every patient in need.
