Bank deposits increased by with 11.5 billion ALL compared to May of this year.

Savings expanded by 7.6%, or ALL 79.4 billion (EUR 640 million) more than in February 2020, marking the highest growth rates since 2012, for the same time periods.

Deposits saw an upward trend, since the beginning of the pandemic, which is continuing during 2021.

According to bankers, there has been an increase in the saving rate in the euro beyond expectations, due to the seasonal migration.

At the end of June of 2021, the share of foreign currency deposits was 53.9%,  up from 53.4% in December of 2020.

On an annual basis (June 2021 / June 2020), total deposits increased by 8.6%, or by ALL 90.6 billion (about EUR 730 million). //a.i/
